China and Russia are building a new trade port on the border

In the city of Suifenhe, located on the border of China and Russia’s Primorsky Krai, construction has begun on a China-Russia international trade logistics port. The new complex will cover 23,700 square meters, with an investment of 120 million yuan. It will include an international product exhibition center, warehousing and distribution facilities, a modern office building, and a high-class designer hotel.

The project is aimed at boosting the development of Northeast China and the Russian Far East, as well as strengthening bilateral trade, which reached $244.8 billion in 2024. Suifenhe already plays a key role in cross-border trade: it hosts Ross Empire, the largest distribution center for Russian goods, featuring over 5,500 product categories. In addition, the city’s bonded zone, with its special customs status, plays an important role in storing and distributing imported products.
