Russia has launched its largest dry port — the transport and logistics center in Artyom (Primorsky Krai). The facility was officially put into operation last week during the Eastern Economic Forum. At the first stage, the terminal’s capacity is 542,000 TEU per year, with plans to exceed 1 million TEU in the future. The new complex, featuring more than 100 km of railway tracks, is designed to handle export, import, and domestic container cargo. The project has attracted ₽41.7 billion in investments, created 232 jobs, and received state support through preferential financing from VEB.RF and Sberbank. Its unique technological layout, with connections to Artyom Primorsky stations 1, 2, and 3, as well as circular train movement, ensures high throughput capacity while minimizing the load on Russian Railways’ public infrastructure. The facility also includes its own power plant, specialized yards for train accumulation and sorting, a wagon repair depot, and large-scale container yards equipped with cranes. Artyom is becoming a new hub for container logistics in Russia and the Far East.
